Selamat Jalan Chrisye...

JAKARTA, KCM - Indonesia harus kembali kehilangan penyanyi terbaiknya. Penyanyi kawakan Chrismansyah Rahadi atau yang dikenal dengan nama Chrisye tutup usia di usia 58 tahun,  pada Jumat (30/7) pagi sekitar pukul 04.08 WIB

Almarhum meninggalkan seorang istri, G.F. Damayanti Noor (52) dan empat orang anak, Rizkia Nurannisa (24), Risty  Nurraisa (21), dan si kembar Randa Pramasha dan Rayinda Prashatya (18). 

Hal tersebut dibenarkan pengamat musik Denny Sakrie saat dihubungi KCM. Ia mengaku  mendapatkan kabar dari kakak ipar Chrisye, Firzy  Noor tadi pagi. Sampai saat ini baik keluarga Chrisye maupun produser rekaman Indriati Wijaya (Acin) belum bisa dihubungi.

Namun menurut penuturan Denny, almarhum meninggal pukul 04.08 WIB. Saat ini jenazah disemayamkan di rumah duka  dan rencananya akan dikebumikan di Taman Pemakaman Umum (TPU) Jeruk Purut, Jakarta Selatan, pukul 14.00 WIB.

Selama ini Chrisye memang menderita penyakit dalam dan divonis menderita kanker paru-paru stadium empat sejak tahun 2005. Ia beberapa kali  mendapatkan perawatan kemoterapi di rumah sakit Mount Elizabeth, Singapura, sejak 31 Juli 2005. Namun, belakangan pihak keluarga memilih untuk memberikan perawatan di rumah dengan melakukan pengobatan alternatif.

Route description
From the Apeldoorn direction you follow the A1 to Amsterdam. Follow the ‘Schipol’ signs; you will then reach the A4 heading for The Hague.
Take exit 4 and follow the N207 towards Lisse. In Lisse, you follow the sign boards to Keukenhof.
From the Utrecht direction you take the A2 to Amsterdam and select the A4 heading for The Hague. On the A4 you take exit 4. See above for remainder.
From Rotterdam you follow the A4 to The Hague-Amsterdam and take exit 4. See above for remainder.
From The Hague you drive via the A44 and take exit 3 Noordwijkerhout/Lisse. You then take the N208 to Lisse and follow signs to Keukenhof.

Public transport:
During the opening of Keukenhof, bus nr 54 (Keukenhof Express) will drive from Leiden Central Station directly to our park. From Haarlem, Keukenhof can be reached with line bus nr 50 or bus nr 51; in Lisse you can change over to the shuttle bus, bus nr 57. A combi-ticket for the bus and admission to Keukenhof costs € 18,00. 65+ € 15,00 and children (6 - 11) € 10,00.
Bus nr 58 is a direct connection from Schipol to Keukenhof.

Bento (弁当 or べんとう, Bentō?) is a single-portion takeout meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish. Containers range from disposable mass produced to hand crafted lacquerware. While bento are readily available at convenience stores and bento shops (弁当屋, bentō-ya) throughout Japan, it is still considered an essential skill of a Japanese housewife to be able to prepare an appealing boxed lunch.

Bento can be very elaborate, aesthetically pleasing cuisine arrangements. Often the food is arranged in such a way as to resemble other objects: dolls, flowers, leaves, and so forth.

History
The origin of bento can be traced back to the late Kamakura Period (1185 to 1333), when cooked and dried rice called hoshi-ii (糒 or 干し飯, literally "dried meal") was developed. Hoshi-ii can be eaten as is, or can be boiled with water to make cooked rice, and is stored in a small bag. In the Azuchi-Momoyama Period (1568 to 1600), wooden lacquered boxes like today's were produced and bento would be eaten during a hanami or a tea party.

In the peaceful and prosperous time of the Edo Period (1603 to 1867), bento culture spread and became more refined. Travelers and sightseers would carry a simple koshibentō (腰弁当, "waist bento"), consisting of several onigiri wrapped with bamboo leaves or in a woven bamboo box. One of the most popular styles of bento, called makuno-uchi bentō ("between-scene bento"), was first made during this period. People who came to see Noh and Kabuki ate specially prepared bento between maku (scenes). Numerous cookbooks were published detailing how to cook, how to pack, and what to prepare for occasions like Hanami and Hinamatsuri.

In the Meiji Period (1868 to 1912), the first ekibentō or ekiben (駅弁当 or 駅弁, "train station bento") was sold. There are several records that claim where ekiben was first sold, but it is believed that it was sold on 16 July 1885, at the Utsunomiya train station, and contained two onigiri and a serving of takuan wrapped in bamboo leaves. As early schools did not provide lunch, students and teachers carried bento, as did many employees. A "European" style bento with sandwiches also went on sale during this period.

In the Taisho period (1912 to 1926), the aluminum bento box became a luxury item because of its ease of cleaning and its silver-like appearance. Also, a move to abolish the practice of bento in school became a social issue. Disparities in wealth spread during this period, following an export boom during World War I and subsequent crop failures in the Tohoku region. A bento too often reflected a student's wealth, and many wondered if this had an unfavorable influence on children both physically, from lack of adequate diet, and psychologically, from a clumsily made bento or the richness of food. After World War II, the practice of bringing bento to school gradually declined and was replaced by uniform food provided for all students and teachers.

Bento regained its popularity in the 1980s, with the help of the microwave oven and the proliferation of convenience stores. In addition, the expensive wood and metal boxes have been replaced at most bento shops with inexpensive, disposable polystyrene boxes. However, even handmade bento have made a comeback, and they are once again a common, although not universal, sight at Japanese schools. (Their concomitant problems have not been avoided: the quality of bento is still very often a reflection of students' home situation.)

Bento is also popular in Taiwan. Bento (便當) made its way to Taiwan in the first half of the 20th century from Japan, where it remains very popular to the present day. The term is a loan word from the Japanese word in Taiwanese Mandarin.

In 2003, airports started offering an analogous version of the ekiben: bento filled with local cuisine, to be eaten while waiting for an airplane or during the flight.

Buat yg suka liat peninggalan bersejarah Roma deh surganya. Ada Colosseum yg dulunya arena bertarung Gladiator, Castel Sant'Angelo, dan reruntuhan kekaisaran Romawi seperti misalnya Roman Forum. Jangan lupa kalo ke Vatican mampir ke St Peter's Basilica.

Nieuw rijexamen vanaf 2008

AMSTERDAM - Het praktisch rijexamen gaat vanaf 2008 op de schop. Leerlingen die examen doen krijgen te maken met nieuwe vaardigheden zoals filerijden, zelfstandig met een navigatiesysteem een route afleggen en gevaarherkenning. Bovendien moeten examenkandidaten zuinig kunnen rijden.

Het Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen (CBR) experimenteert momenteel met de nieuwe examenonderdelen. Verschillende autorijscholen in ons land zijn bij de proef betrokken die komende zomer wordt geëvalueerd. " Het praktisch rijexamen is toe aan vernieuwingen. Voormalig verkeersminister Karla Peijs wilde korte metten maken met het aantal ongevallen en heeft ons verzocht om het examen aan te passen", aldus CBR-woordvoerder Hans Fontijn.

Het verkeer heeft zich volgens het CBR de laatste jaren behoorlijk ontwikkeld. "Het is drukker en ingewikkelder geworden op de weg. Automobilisten dienen ook meer rekening te houden met extra gevaren zoals plotselinge files", verduidelijkt de CBR-woordvoerder.

Een van de meest in het oog springende veranderingen is het zelfstandig rijden. "Nu wordt er gezegd of een examenkandidaat links of rechts moet afslaan. Vanaf de invoering van het nieuwe rijexamen moeten leerlingen zelfstandiger kunnen rijden. De examinator kan bijvoorbeeld een locatie bepalen waar een kandidaat met behulp van navigatieapparatuur en borden zelfstandig heen moet kunnen rijden." Filerijden wordt ook in het examenpakket opgenomen. "Het draait om filerijden en files vermijden. Kandidaten moeten kunnen anticiperen wanneer ze te maken krijgen met een file. Ze moeten zelfstandig keuzes maken, bijvoorbeeld kiezen voor een andere route."

Verder wordt er volgens Fontijn aandacht geschonken aan de beperkingen van een kandidaat. "Hij of zij moet bijvoorbeeld geconcentreerd blijven rijden, ook al zitten er meerdere mensen in het voertuig." Een ander belangrijk onderdeel is het zuinig rijden.

Het theoretisch examen zal naar verwachting ook volgend jaar worden aangepast.

Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that falls on Bali's Lunar New Year (March 19, 2007). It is a day of silence, fasting, and meditation.

Observed from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning, Nyepi is a day reserved for self-reflection and as such, anything that might interfere with that purpose is restricted. The main restrictions are: no lighting fires (and lights must be kept low); no working; no entertainment or pleasure; no traveling; and for some, no talking or eating at all. The effect of these prohibitions is that Bali’s usually bustling streets and roads are empty, there is little or no noise from TVs and radios, and few signs of activity are seen even inside homes. The only people to be seen outdoors are the Pecalangs, traditional security men who patrol the streets to ensure the prohibitions are being followed.

Although Nyepi is primarily a Hindu holiday, non-Hindu residents of Bali observe the day of silence as well, out of respect for their fellow citizens. Even tourists are not exempt; although free to do as they wish inside their hotels, no one is allowed onto the beaches or streets, and the only airport in Bali remains closed for the entire day. The only exceptions granted are for emergency vehicles carrying those with life-threatening conditions and women about to give birth.

On the day after Nyepi, known as Ngembak Geni, social activity picks up again quickly, as families and friends gather to ask forgiveness from one another, and to perform certain religious rituals together.

First, The Melasti Ritual is performed at the 3-4 previous day. It is dedicated to Sanghyang Widhi/Vishnu-Devas-Bataras and is performed at the beach to respect them as the owner of The Land and Sea.

Second, The Bhuta Yajna Ritual is performed in order to vanquish the negative elements and create balance with God, Mankind, and Nature.

Third, The Nyepi Rituals is performed with the following conditions:
Amati Geni: No fire/light
Amati Karya: No working
Amati Lelunganan: No traveling
Amati Lelanguan: Fasting

Fourth, The Yoga/Brata Ritual starts at 6:00 AM March 17 and continues to 6:00 AM March 20 (24 hours).

Fifth, The Ngebak Agni/Labuh Brata Ritual is performed for all Hindu's to forgive each other and to welcome the new days to come.

Tiësto nieuwe dj bij Radio 538

HILVERSUM - Tiësto is een nieuwe dj bij Radio 538. De wereldberoemde dj krijgt vanaf 6 april een eigen programma op vrijdagavond tussen 22.00 uur en middernacht.

„Een leuke uitdaging”, noemt Tijs Verwest, zoals de dj in het dagelijks leven heet, zijn eigen programma. Zijn show wordt anders dan de programma's van andere dj's. „Het is geen mix van twee uur, ik ga ook verhaaltjes en anekdotes vertellen. Ook komt er iedere week een onbekende gast-dj.”

De 'Club Nouveau' show gaat bestaan uit twee delen. „Het eerste uur komen vooral de hits van nu voorbij en het tweede uur de hits van de toekomst.” Verwest denkt dat zijn fans verrast worden. „Ik ga wat meer experimenteren dan normaal tijdens liveshows.”

Binnenkort start de dj met een wereldtournee en er komt ook een nieuw album. „Ik ga een showcase geven op een hele speciale locatie ergens in Nederland.” Wat die speciale locatie is, wil de dj nog niet bekendmaken.

Breaking News: At least 21 killed in Indonesia plane crash

Passengers trapped inside burning aircraft at Yogyakarta airport

 

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia - An Indonesian jetliner carrying 140 people burst into flames as it landed on Java island Wednesday, killing at least 21 people and injuring 96, the airline and witnesses said.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard said Indonesian officials had confirmed 49 deaths, though it was not clear where that information came from. He said about 10 Australians were on board the plane.

“It is a terrible tragedy,” Howard told a nationally television news conference. “Many lives have been lost, and our love and sympathy and condolences go to those who are suffering distress and grief.”

Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi said after meeting Indonesia’s president that 21 were confirmed dead and 96 others were being treated at three hospitals, some with broken bones and burns.

An airline official on the ground gave similar data, but said some passengers were thought to have walked away from the scene, making it difficult to confirm the death toll.

It was the second major airline accident in Indonesia this year.

Horrific scenes
The Garuda airlines Boeing 737-400 started shaking violently before landing at the Yogyakarta international airport and then overshot the runway, hitting fences and stopping in a rice field before 7 a.m. Some survivors said the fire began at the front the plane before engulfing the aircraft.

Many passengers escaped and rescuers battled flames to reach those trapped inside, said Capt. Ari Sapari, operations director of national carrier Garuda.

TV footage taken minutes after the accident shows injured passengers lying on the field crying in agony, as the plane burned fiercely in the background, sending black smoke billowing into the air. Others walked to safety unaided, some carrying their luggage.

“Before the plane landed it was shaking. Suddenly there was smoke inside the fuselage, it hit the runway and then it landed in a rice field,” local Islamic leader Dien Syamsudin told El-Shinta radio station. “I saw a foreigner. His clothes were on fire and I jumped from the emergency exit. Thank God I survived.”

Another survivor told local TV station RCTI TV that “before landing I felt the plane shake strongly.”

“We overshot the runway, then I heard the sound of an explosion and ran through an emergency exit,” continued passenger Muhammad Dimyati. “I believe many passengers remained trapped on board.”

The Australians on board were diplomatic staff and journalists who were traveling from the capital, Jakarta, ahead of Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer and Attorney-General Phillip Ruddock, who had been due to attend a function later Wednesday. Neither official was aboard the stricken plane.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono ordered a thorough investigation into the crash, appointing the security minister to look into possible “non-technical” causes, said spokesman Andi Mallarangengeng, in an apparent reference to sabotage.

“The president wants to make sure the investigation is complete. This would include technical and non-technical problems,” Mallarangengeng said without elaborating.

String of disasters
Indonesia has been hit by a string of transportation disasters in recent months. In late December, a passenger ferry sank in a storm in the Java Sea, killing more than 400 people.

Days later, a passenger plane operated by the budget airline Adam Air crashed into the ocean, killing all 102 people on board. A ship that sank near the capital’s port left at least 50 dead.

The government responded by saying it would ban local commercial airlines from operating planes more than 10 years old, though most experts say maintenance and the number of takeoffs and landings are the most important factors in preventing accidents.

Garuda ludes terbakar

Lagi, kecelakaan pesawat terjadi di Indonesia. Pesawat Garuda jurusan Jakarta-Jogya, terbakar ketika mendarat di Bandara Adi Sucipto tadi pagi jam 07.00 WIB. Ada sejumlah penumpang yang diduga masih di dalam kabin pesawat, baru sekitar 70 penumpang yang terevakuasi dari 130 penumpang di dalamnya.

Din Syamsudin (ketua PP Muhammadiyah) dilaporkan selamat, dan hanya mengalami luka memar. Din keluar dari pintu darurat, dan menginformasikan masih banyak sejumlah penumpang di belakangnya panik, karena suasana gelap dan berasap. Di kelas bisnis, ada beberapa penumpang dari kedubes Australia yang menurut rencana hari ini akan bertemu dengan Din Syamsudin.

After a seemingly endless bout of winter, springtime brings raised temperatures, moods and hemlines. MSN Shopping’s Style Editor Shannon McCarthy gathers some gorgeous reasons to welcome the change in seasons.

Graphic Details — Florals, Prints, Polka-Dots & Stripes

This year, fashion gets detail oriented. We haven’t seen such a wealth of printed and woven patterns since the ‘60s and ‘70s. In fact, some of the best new day dresses look like particularly good vintage store finds. Florals are big and I mean that literally — oversize roses bloom on sweet cotton shirtdresses, and large, almost abstract flowers adorn floaty chiffon mini-dresses. Smaller patterns are just as fresh. My favorite motif is what I call "antique wallpaper." These intricate designs liven up the basic shift shapes so popular this spring. If you like your clothes less girly-girl and more mod, go with polka-dots or stripes on dresses, separates and accessories. You can easily translate this trend into real-world wearability by pairing your patterned pieces with neutral "anchors" like a khaki pencil skirt, white wide-legged pant or a black linen cropped jacket.

 

Opposites Attract — Black & White

This is the most coolly classic combination and designers don’t want to let go of it. Stores are stocked with soft, easy knits in black and white that are effortless to wear and coordinate, and are lightweight enough for warmer weather. I think today’s chicest proportions — volume over skinny or vice-versa — look particularly sharp when interpreted in black and white combinations. We can find long ivory shirtdresses paired with deep charcoal leggings, or black ballerina wrap cardigans topping white a-line skirts. The simplest way to get in on fashion’s equivalent of yin-yang is with one piece that combines the two colors. Dresses will do the trick and just happen to be the apparel item of the season. Shine On — Metallics

I’m sure I’ve written this at least once in the past year, but it bears repeating — metallics are the new neutral. We began by incorporating these glowing hues in small doses, with accessories paving the way, but what was once a precious extra is now a wardrobe staple. And because designers have turned down the wattage, we can wear gold, copper and bronze in an entirely indulgent manner. What used to sparkle now shimmers, and the flash quotient has been burnished to a tawny luster. (The exception to this is the mother lode of brilliant silver seen on shoes, bags and tops.) Wearing head-to-toe glow is fine for the evening, but you may want to confine your daytime shine to something more subtle. Bold Front — Bright Colors

There’s always one spring trend that does a complete "180" away from the fall. This time it’s color. Big. Saturated. Extroverted. This season’s palette makes last year’s powdery pastels look positively shy in comparison. Primary colors like red, blue, green and (especially) yellow, are showing up on tailored crop jackets, trendy walking shorts, casual tanks and retro mini dresses. These hues are supremely eye-catching and bold, but if you’d rather not attract all that attention, sport this look in the way I recommend for metallics — with kicky separates rather than a total ensemble. A stand-out bright leather jacket with your favorite jeans, or the finishing touch of a red belt with that blue and white nautical-inspired outfit may be the perfect amount of punch. Try a conservatively cut Henley tee in sunny yellow, paired with neutral crop pants. Or a figure-flattering cotton cami in red with a soft cream broomstick skirt. Frill Up — Ruffles, Pleats, Draping & Lace

I’ve saved my favorite for last. As much as I love the classic lines of tailored clothing, and the undeniable ease of unadorned knits, there’s just something more fun about getting the pretty. A must-have for spring is the embellished white blouse. Vogue omschreef het als 'het beste handbooek ooit' en als je van het vrouwelijk geslacht bent, kan dat best wel eens kloppen. Handboek voor doe-het-zelf diva's vertelt je zo ongeveer álles wat je als vrouw zijnde moet weten: hoe je een kaart leest, muziek op je Ipod zet, een puistje verbergt en een roerei bakt bijvoorbeeld. Het boek gaat natuurlijk ook in op praktische vrouwenzaken, zoals het lopen op hoge hakken. Hieronder een kleine greep van tips uit het boek.

Hoe je hoge hakken aantrekt

• Draag liever geen panty, maar 'betreed' je hakken met blote voeten.
  
• Ga op de rand van een stoel zitten, met je voeten op heupafstand van elkaar plat op de grond, knieën licht naar voren gebogen.
  
• Recht je rug, trek je schouders naar achteren en houd je hoofd recht.
  
• Tip je voet op en wijs als een prima ballerina met je tenen naar beneden, buig hem en laat hem in de schoen glijden.
  
• Wiebel even met je tenen om ze te laten wennen aan het gevoel.
  
• Sta voorzichtig op en zoek evenwicht.
  
• Je kuiten en knieën horen strak aan te voelen, net als je onderrug.

Hoe je op hoge hakken loopt

• Til je rechtervoet op, druk je tenen samen en leun met je gewicht op de bal van je voet.
  
• Verspreid je gewicht over je hak, als je het gewicht naar de bal van je voet duwt om beweging te stimuleren, voorkom je het afbreken van je hak.
  
• Als je je rechtervoet neerzet en op je hak landt, moet je je gewicht meteen naar voren plaatsen.
  
• Til je andere voet pas op als je gewicht goed is herverdeeld.
  
• Kantel je voet een beetje en leun op de buitenkant ervan, zodat beide voeten zo ver mogelijk van elkaar 'wegleunen'.
  
• Stel je tijdens het lopen voor dat je heupen met elke stap een achtfiguur maken en dat je naar voren wordt getrokken.
  
• Loop als een koorddanser, rechtop en uitgestrekt, en laat je heupen zich als eerste bewegen.

5 top tips:

1. Als je hak afbreekt verplaats je je gewicht naar je tenen en dartel je naar de dichtsbijzijnde taxistandplaats.

2. Alcohol en hakkencoördinatie gaan niet goed samen.

3. Suède, satijn en lichte kleuren zijn uit den boze als er ook maar de kleinste kans op regen bestaat.

4. Een bewegende trap is prima te doen zolang je naar boven gaat en je je hakken over de rand van de trede kunt laten bungelen. Naar beneden? Houd je dan goed aan de reling vast.

5. Rijd nooit auto met hakken aan!
